Northstone Insurance Acquires Eight Agencies Across Michigan, Texas, and Louisiana

ANN ARBOR, MI — Northstone Insurance Group, a fast-growing tech-enabled insurance brokerage, announced it has completed the acquisition of eight independent insurance agencies across three states—expanding its presence across the Upper Midwest and the South.

The deals significantly grow Northstone’s geographic reach and strengthen its capabilities across commercial property and casualty (P&C), high-net-worth personal lines, and employee health benefits. Specific terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Northstone is known for its technology-forward approach to insurance distribution and client service. By acquiring high-performing agencies with deep roots in their communities, the firm aims to deliver both local expertise and the power of a scaled national platform.

“These agencies are some of the most trusted and respected in their regions,” said CEO Michael Granger. “They bring exceptional talent, long-standing relationships, and a client-first culture that matches our own. Together, we are building a better, smarter insurance experience for clients and partners nationwide.”

All eight agencies will now operate under the Northstone brand and gain access to the firm’s advanced infrastructure, marketing tools, and digital resources, including its proprietary Lead Nexus platform—an AI-powered engine that enables data-driven growth, client targeting, and predictive analytics.

Equity for Every Employee

As part of Northstone’s integration model, all employees from the acquired agencies will participate in the company’s Employee Purpose Plan—an equity incentive program designed to align team members with the company’s long-term value creation.

“We believe everyone should have a stake in our success,” Granger said. “Our Purpose Plan ensures that every team member—not just executives—shares in the growth and value we create together.”

Here’s a breakdown of the eight newly acquired agencies joining Northstone:

Strategic Expansion with Shared Values

With this acquisition wave, Northstone Insurance now has a stronger presence across key regions and industries. According to Granger, this move is not just about market expansion—it’s about culture alignment.

“Every one of these agencies reflects our core values: integrity, ownership, leadership, and service,” he said. “We’re not simply buying agencies; we’re partnering with people who believe in doing the right thing, leading with purpose, and building something lasting.”

The newly joined teams will now have access to a centralized suite of resources, including sales enablement, compliance support, data analytics, and the firm’s tech infrastructure. At the heart of it is Lead Nexus, Northstone’s AI-enabled platform that helps identify ideal prospects, generate actionable insights, and streamline client onboarding.

Positioned for the Future

Granger emphasized that Northstone is committed to maintaining the personal relationships that make independent agencies so valuable—while also offering the tools needed to compete at scale.

“As the insurance industry continues to evolve, clients want both expertise and convenience,” he said. “That’s what we offer—local relationships backed by smart technology and a national platform.”

With these eight agencies now fully onboarded, Northstone is well-positioned for its next chapter of growth—bringing together entrepreneurial agents, modern tools, and a unified purpose to better serve businesses and individuals alike.
